Lean Six Sigma Training

Dr. Roger Hilton Leads a team  of experienced specialists who train to the competencies  in Master Black, Black and Green and Lean Practititioner, Leader and Expert under ISO18404, the new international standard in Lean Six Sigma.

Training Calendar

Every two months starting in February and end in November, our LSS program runs for either Yellow Belt/Lean Practitioner, Green belt and Black belt on the first Monday and Tuesday of the month.

Yellow Belt/Lean Practitioner runs for 2 workdays, the Green Belt runs for two further workshop days and the Black Belt for a further 3 workshop days.

Green and Black Belts

The Green and Black belts also require the candidate to complete online modules which support the workshops. Candidates will join other cohorts from different months as we like to get at least 5 into a workshop. We support the candidate in leading their projects which should have a substantial business case. Candidates are provided in a licence for Sigma XL.

Investment

Yellow Belt/Lean Practitioner - $2,500 plus GST
Green belt - $4700 plus GST (includes Yellow/Lean Practitioner)
Black belt - $8,700 plus GST (includes Green Belt)


There are discounts for privately funded candidates to are looking to change careers into process improvement.

We run an Lean-Agile-DevOps one day workshop and these are scheduled as required.

The next one is on the 6th December.

Philosophy and Approach

Philosophy

We use known frameworks and academic research to establish a culture and structure for sustainable continuous improvement

Training at different levels is important to develop the competencies in improvement methods but  is not sufficient for an improvement culture to become sustained.  Sometimes training can even have a negative effect.  Organisations bring in trainers and when they leave, very little is left behind.  People are not given time or resources.  There is no structure in place to ensure that improvement is driven strategically.  This can mean that the people who have done the training get frustrated and leave.

Training is necessary but not sufficient.

Lean Sigma Institute has researched sustainability of continuous improvement programs for many years and published on the subject.  This is the basis for our work. 

  • Training in Lean Six Sigma at Yellow, Green, Black Belt and Master Black Belt levels to ISO18404
  • Training in Lean Practititoner, Lean Leader and Lean Expert to ISO18404
  • Training in Lean-Agile-DevOps
  • Coaching and mentoring of Black and Green belts in project work.
  • Consulting and workshops for management in establishing sustainable continuous improvement
  • Coaching in advanced statistics methods to solve specific problems.
  • Assisting organisations in developing the systems and structures which support sustainable improvement (such as Quality Management Systems and pipeline structures).
  • Providing general management, short term support to small and medium sized enterprises in the event of organizational and structural changes.

As experienced managers and consultants we are comfortable working with people at all levels from the boardroom to the shop floor.

We have a strong interest in research and education and aim to promote wider understanding of the methods, tools and techniques of sustainable improvement, through our own research, support for conferences, networks and discussions groups.

For the potential “Change Drivers” in your organisation we provide advanced improvement skills training in Lean Six Sigma to Black, Green, Yellow and White Belt levels to achieve internationally recognized registration as Professional Practitioners.

However, training is not sufficient for an organization to actually achieve World Class levels of performance. There are often internal barriers and limitations that hinder organisations, making them “under-achievers”. Continued Professional Development Programmes

People who go through our training programs successfully gain registration on the Lean Sigma Institute’s register of Lean Six Sigma Professionals.

To maintain this registration, we expect that people will maintain their professional competence through a range of different activities.

Workshops

Lean Sigma Institute will tailor a 1, 2 or 3 day workshop to suits your needs. For example, at a recent workshop there were 10 participants and the focus of the training was around time value and value stream mapping, 5S, FMEA and root cause analysis. The company involved was a service organization.

In some cases this may form a part of a Lean Six Sigma Belt depending on the content of the workshop. In other cases it might be part of an overall strategy to implement continuous improvement within the organization.
